About the opportunity

We are currently seeking to appoint an experienced and dedicated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our team in the Business School’s Discipline of Finance for a full time fixed 18 month period to work on a research program that is funded by a national Australian Research Council Discovery Grant (DP170101413). This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and proven early career researcher to work on research related to banking regulation and its impact on banks, firms and the real economy. The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will be working collaboratively with a team of experienced researchers in Australia and internationally to conduct research towards this research program. At the University of Sydney, this nationally funded ARC project is led by the Lead Chief Investigator (CI), Associate Professor Eliza Wu together with CI Professor Suk-Joong Kim. You will be supervised by Associate Professor Eliza Wu. Being part of this team will provide you with unique training and mentorship opportunities to become a leading quantitative researcher in the field.

About you

The Discipline of Finance is now inviting postdoctoral researchers in Banking and Finance to join an active research team led by experienced senior academics at the University of Sydney to conduct research on banking and banking regulation and its real economic effects. We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher with exceptional skills and knowledge in microeconometric modelling. You are also expected to be knowledgeable about current developments in contemporary academic banking research. Knowledge about Basel banking regulation and the use of credit ratings would be highly desirable but not essential.
