The Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University (ASU) and The Polytechnic School (TPS) seek applicants for a faculty Teaching Professor (all ranks) position in the area of the Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (TEM) program. This position is looking for financial technology management experience. The Polytechnic School (TPS), one of the eight Fulton Schools, houses a vibrant technology entrepreneurship, management, and engineering teaching community.

The TEM Program is housed on the Polytechnic campus and resides in the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering. Students receive a foundation in technology and business fundamentals with an emphasis on entrepreneurship and innovation. The program prepares students to launch or develop technology-based ventures, for-profit and nonprofit, and to tackle social and corporate issues that will have an impact on the world around them. We seek applicants who complement our abilities in these areas to solve grand challenges as part of a community of experts. Particular areas of interest include but are not limited to, finance, product or SAAS development, financial technology management, and innovation. In addition, industry experience in the space of product and project management or multiproduct leadership roles is a plus. Entrepreneurship or intrapreneurship leadership roles are also highly desirable. Experience with teaching and leading courses at a college level is preferable.

We seek applicants who will contribute to our academic programs, promote transdisciplinary teaching, and help the university achieve its aspirations, including enabling student success, transforming society, valuing entrepreneurship, and conducting use-inspired research. Faculty members in the Fulton Schools are expected to adopt effective pedagogical practices in the development and delivery of graduate and undergraduate courses, advise both undergraduate and graduate student projects, and undertake service activities.

This position is a full-time on-site position at the Polytechnic Campus. Appointment will be at the Assistant/Associate/Full Teaching Professor rank commensurate with the candidate's experience and accomplishments, beginning August 2024. This position is a non-tenure track appointment with a fixed-term academic year contract. It is anticipated that the contract will be renewed annually subject to satisfactory performance and the needs of the unit.

The faculty member is expected to contribute to the standards of excellence in the undergraduate and graduate programs through effective pedagogical practices and instructions, mentoring, and supporting student work. Service is an important component of these positions and is demonstrated by collaboration, cooperation, contribution, team building, leadership, and industry engagement.

The Polytechnic School seeks candidates who have a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching that incorporates student-focused learning, will contribute to our academic programs, will promote transdisciplinary teaching, and help the University to achieve its aspirations, including enabling student success, transforming society, and valuing entrepreneurship. Faculty members are expected to adopt effective pedagogical practices in the development and delivery of graduate and undergraduate courses.

This new TEM faculty member will be expected to contribute to excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching that includes course preparation, instruction and course-related student advising for undergraduate and/or M.S. business courses such as organizational behavior, human resources, knowledge management, sustainability, social responsibility, and/or social entrepreneurship. Other responsibilities include advising and mentoring undergraduate students, involvement in further developing and delivering graduate and undergraduate curricula, and service to the program, university, state, and profession.

Qualifications

Required qualifications:
Earned Doctorate in any of the following: Finance, Business Administration, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Management of Technology, Technological Entrepreneurship, Engineering, Information Technology, Educational Leadership, Intellectual Property Law, or a related field by the time of appointment.
Academic and/or professional background commensurate with teaching courses in one or more of the subject areas listed above.
Evidence of excellence in teaching, as appropriate to the candidate's rank.

Desired qualifications:
Industrial or academic experience in entrepreneurial finance: scaling, accounting, fundraising, analytics, legal structures, negotiation, outsourcing, pricing, or deal-making.
Industrial or academic experience in Financial or Digital Technology: scaling, operations, artificial intelligence, strategy, data science, Enterprise Resource Management, implementation, coding, IT, or marketing.
International experience is a plus.
Industrial experience in a start-up, consulting firm, fin-tech, intrapreneurial venture, venture capital, private equity, or angel firm.
Current knowledge of and demonstrated proficiency in technology and tools that can be applied to venture development.
Demonstrated commitment to a collaborative, transdisciplinary approach to teaching.
Commitment to inclusive teaching practices.
Teaching experience in on-campus and on-line modalities that incorporate lectures, instructional-based labs and activities into course material.
Engaging students in a project-based educational setting involving team-based projects, capstone projects, and applied projects.
Development of course material that is used for online and on-campus delivery.
Relevant industry experience within the public or private sectors
Relevant entrepreneurial, business, product development, or technology management experience
Track record of published works in topics related to entrepreneurship, innovation management, product development, sustainability, or topics relevant to experience.
Evidence of international activities (student exchange, internships, collaborations, etc.)
