The Assistant/Associate Professor of Arts and Entertainment Management/Program Coordinator, teaches in and manages the BA program in arts and entertainment management, with the opportunity to shape its future direction and growth. This position seeks an experienced professional interested in leading a small, but vibrant program designed to prepare students for careers in the arts management or entertainment industries.

The ideal candidate will: encourage, inspire and help equip students seeking careers in the arts and in realms ranging from sports to popular entertainment; teach four courses per semester; contribute to the service needs of the College; coach and mentor students; and work with colleagues in the Arts as well as in Business Management to proactively support a meaningful and relevant learning environment, facilitating optimal student preparation for success.

In addition to teaching in areas of arts and entertainment management, duties may include, but are not limited to, curriculum development and program planning, coordination of the program, developing course offerings, scheduling, student recruitment and retention. The BA program in Arts and Entertainment Management is a dynamic interdisciplinary program and builds on Dean’s academic strength in dance, theater, communications and business. The intention of the Arts and Entertainment Management program is to equip students to become effective managers in the arts and entertainment fields. The curriculum is designed to increase the student’s ability to identify and solve the complex, interdisciplinary problems and tensions that are inherent in the areas of arts management and artistic enterprises.

An advanced degree in Arts Administration or related discipline is preferred, minimally a Master’s Degree plus a minimum of three years of demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching in multiple areas of arts administration. Robust professional management experience with performing, entertainment and/or visual arts organizations is necessary as are leadership and involvement in arts administration professional associations.
