The School of Business at Stevens Institute of Technology invites applications for two full time tenure-track faculty positions in Operations Research / Data Analytics/Statistics at the Assistant or Associate Professor level with an expected start date of August 2017. Of particular interest are applicants with backgrounds in Data Science, Statistics, Information Visualization, Machine Learning, Information Systems and related fields.These positions are part of the School’s strategic plan of hiring three to five faculty members annually over the next few years. The positions are available immediately and applications will be accepted until the positions are filled.
Successful candidates will possess a PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, MachineLearning, Information Systems or other related discipline.The degree must be completed before August 2017. Experience in industry and/or government is a plus.
Business Intelligence & Analytics faculty at the school are active in research involving web mining, machine learning, social computing, collective intelligence, digital innovation and process innovation. Candidates are expected to complement and enhance the research activities of the school with their own scholarly activities, advisePh.D. students, and are expected to publish in top journals of their field. Successful candidates are expected to teach in our graduate and undergraduate programs in Business Intelligence & Analytics. Stevens’ Business Intelligence & Analytics masters degree is ranked among the top 10in the United States and combines courses on statistics, computational methods,data mining as well as domain-specific coursework. The program offers concentrations in marketing analytics, supply chain analytics, as well as data science. Successful candidates are expected to participate in curricular development, student advisement and the program’s robust series of public events besides the primary role of pursuing a strong research agenda.
