Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver lectures on Logistics & Supply Chain Management and other relevant management courses to undergraduate and graduate students.
- Utilize innovative teaching methods to ensure students reach their full potential in these subjects.
- Supervise and counsel students on theoretical and practical activities related to their studies.
- Evaluate and grade students' coursework, lab performance, assignments, and examinations.
- Maintain records of student attendance, grades, and other necessary documentation.
- Prepare and update course materials, including syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts, aligning them with current trends.
- Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, and instructional methods.
- Supervise undergraduate and graduate teaching, internships, and research work.
- Stay current in the field by reading literature, discussing with colleagues, and attending professional conferences.
- Facilitate and moderate classroom discussions on relevant topics.
- Select and obtain textbooks and laboratory equipment.
- Assist the department chair and colleagues in executing departmental programs.
- Conduct and publish research in the field and write grant proposals to secure external funding.
- Advise student organizations, serve on academic committees, compile specialized bibliographies, provide consulting services, and perform any other duties assigned by the Dean, particularly those enhancing entrepreneurship, innovation, and management.
- Engagement in community service activities, demonstrating a commitment to applying expertise to benefit the local and broader community.
- Leadership in organizing and participating in community-focused events and initiatives, enhancing the institution’s impact on societal development.
Qualification
A holder of a PhD degree in logistics/supply chain or related field from a recognized university.
Experience
- Must have a minimum of two years of experience in logistics & supply chain teaching and research as an Assistant Professor at a recognized higher education institution.
- Must have a Scopus h-index of 6 or higher.
Job Competencies
- Proficiency in teaching, managing, and evaluating undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the relevant field.
- Expertise in creating and developing course and program materials.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Skilled in providing academic guidance and support to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Capable of establishing and maintaining a research program with a strong track record of publishing in international journals.
- Ability to exhibit leadership in outreach activities.
- Strong commitment to teaching excellence and dedicated student advising.
- Proven research capabilities supported by an extensive record of publications
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Experience in operational planning and the development of academic programs.
