The School of Accounting and Finance is one of the eight schools in the Faculty of Business and Economics.
The appointee will teach undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses in one or more of the core areas of accounting (i.e. Financial Accounting, Auditing, Management Accounting, Information Systems or Forensic Accounting), Finance or Business Law. She/he will be expected to contribute to teaching through the various modes offered by the University. The appointee will also conduct individual and collaborative research leading to outputs in ranked accounting journals and participate in administrative and marketing activities of the School when required.
The Person We Seek
To be considered for this position, applicants must have:
- A PhD in Accounting or a relevant field from a recognised University;
- Significant tertiary teaching experience;
- A demonstrated and active interest in research work;
- Experience in tertiary teaching and/or research supervision at the postgraduate level.
- OR in exceptional cases, a Masters qualification and QoR threshold of meeting the performance expectation of a Lecturer, some relevant tertiary teaching experience and a Post Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Teaching (PGCTT) or equivalent.
Preference will be given to applicants with:
- Recognised qualifications in tertiary teaching and/or professional accountancy.
The position is available for a term of 5 years and may be renewed by mutual agreement.
Salary Range: Lecturer FJ $73,689 to FJ $96,958 per annum
In addition to the above benefits, the University contributes 10% of basic salary to an approved superannuation scheme, provides airfare and relocation costs where appropriate.
