Applications are invited for appointments as Tenure-Track Associate Professor/Assistant Professor (2 posts) jointly offered by the Department of Computer Science and the Faculty of Business and Economics (with the former as the home department), to commence on July 1, 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and with consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract. The two posts are created to support a new joint B.Sc. programme in Financial Technology which is hosted in the Department of Computer Science.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Computational Finance, Statistics or a related field, with research interest in one of the following areas: security and privacy issues in financial applications, emerging technologies related to finance such as blockchain, cryptocurrency, e-payment, data analytics related to finance, computational and quantitative finance, and any area related to financial technology. A globally competitive remuneration package commensurate with the appointee’s qualifications and experience will be offered. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary, as well as leave and medical benefits. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
