Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor of Accounting
Penn State York invites applications for Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor of Accounting (fixed-term, multi-year appointment with option for renewal, 36 weeks), to begin August 2019, or as negotiated. Responsibilities: Teach four courses (12 credits) each semester of lower- and upper-division courses in accounting and in finance. All areas of specialization considered and the ability to teach in multiple areas is desirable, including tax accounting, auditing, or cost accounting. Teaching assignments may require teaching day, evening and/or Saturday classes as needed. Participate in professional organizations and in course, curriculum, and program development. Advise students and provide career guidance. Participate in campus, university, and community service activities. Qualifications: MBA or Master's in accounting and professional certification (CPA, CMA), prior teaching, research, and professional experience are required. Degrees must have been awarded by an AACSB-accredited institution. Commitment to high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment is expected. Scholarship is expected to maintain current knowledge of their field(s) and to demonstrate scholarly engagement in the appropriate discipline(s). Interest in active and collaborative learning, the instructional use of technology, and hybrid and online teaching is an advantage. Prior college-level and online teaching experience preferred. Enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary environment is important.
