    Penn State Schuylkill invites applications for Lecturer/Assistant Teaching Professor in Accounting, (multi-year appointment, 36 weeks) to begin August 2018, or as negotiated.

    Responsibilities: Teach four courses (12 credits) each semester; three courses will be at the Schuylkill campus and one course will be at the Hazleton campus. Courses will include accounting and related subjects. These courses will be taught using traditional, hybrid and online delivery methods. Teaching assignments may require teaching day, evening and/or Saturday classes as needed. Participate in course, curriculum, and program development. Advise students and provide career guidance. Participate in campus, university, and community service activities. Engage in activities to stay current in the discipline.

    Qualifications: Ph.D. in Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field preferred, ABD considered. Minimum requirement of Masters degree, preferably with CPA certification. Commitment to high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment is desired. Interest in active and collaborative learning, the instructional use of technology, and hybrid and online teaching is an advantage. Prior college-level and online teaching experience preferred. Enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary environment is important.

    Penn State Schuylkill is one of more than 20 Penn State campuses state-wide. It is a student-centered campus of approximately 800 students; about 18% are adult learners. The coursework for the first two years of more than 160 Penn State baccalaureate majors is offered, as well as 7 baccalaureate degrees and 4 associate degrees.

    Students and faculty at Penn State Schuylkill have all of the resources of a major research university at their disposal, but in a small college atmosphere. Class sizes are small and the student/faculty ratio is low, so students can receive much individual attention. Our faculty members are committed to providing a high-quality educational experience to their students and are actively engaged in research. Our students receive a world-class education delivered in a small campus setting, and have opportunities to participate in undergraduate research projects supervised by faculty members.
