  • Lecturer in Entrepreneurship

    Position purpose

    A Lecturer will play a key role in the delivery of teaching, research and services within the management discipline.
    Candidates who has a primary research interest in Entrepreneurship or Innovation, and a secondary research interest in International Business, Supply Chain Management, or Strategy are encouraged to apply.

    Key result areas and responsibility
    A Lecturer is expected to make significant contributions to the teaching effort of the discipline and to carry out activities to maintain and develop his/her scholarly research and/or professional activities relevant to the profession or discipline.

    Duties of a Lecturer include:
    Education
    • Preparation and delivery of lectures, tutorials and seminars;
    • Initiation and development of unit materials in the designated area of teaching, with appropriate advice and support from senior academic staff;
    • Coordination of one or more undergraduate units or components of units;
    • Coordination of assessments (including setting questions and marking) in line with the standards in learning and teaching;
    • Consultation with students; and
    • Embracing and supporting the school’s commitment to national and international accreditation.

    Research
    • Conducting research in the designated discipline contributing to the school’s research priorities;
    • Supervision of honours and post graduate students;
    • Contribution to the school’s research funding targets through internal/external grants; and
    • Publication of scholarly papers in leading journals.

    Service
    • Contribution to the profession and community through involvement with industry, regulatory and professional bodies;
    • Attendance and participation in discipline and school meetings thereby contributing to the school’s long-term development and growth
    • Contributing to the development of a positive work culture within the school; and
    Participation and contribution in campus and school level committees and key university events including graduation and student recruitment activities.

    Key selection criteria
    Essential
    1. A PhD in Entrepreneurship or related discipline, or evidence of submission, with a demonstrable record of scholarly and professional achievement in the relevant discipline areas.
    2. Evidence of an emerging track record of high quality research.
    3. A record of high level of quality teaching experience.
    4. Well-developed interpersonal and excellent communication skills with an ability to work with staff and students from diverse backgrounds.
    5. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a member of a team.
    6. Willingness to undertake service at the discipline and school level.
    7. Commitment to implement the university and campus’ policies.

    Desirable
    1. Ability to collaborate with industry, profession and/or wider community on matters relating to the discipline area.
    2. Ability to contribute to multidisciplinary research areas.
