Marymount Manhattan College invites applications for a Tenure-track ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF ACCOUNTING for Fall 2010, pending budgetary approval.
Description:
Responsibilities include teaching a variety of Undergraduate Accounting courses to Accounting and Business Management Majors and Minors. In addition, the successful candidate will be able to teach some combination of Finance, Tax and Law courses.
Candidates must demonstrate teaching excellence and scholarly research agendas.
The College offers Majors in Liberal Arts and Pre-professional Programs, including a B.S. in Business Management, B.S., in Accounting and Minors in Business Management and Accounting. Business students are active in various student organizations and obtain excellent internships and job placements at prominent New York City firms, including non-profit and governmental agencies.
Requirements: Either an MBA with CPA or a Ph.D. in Accounting is required; ABD in Accounting will be considered for appointment at the rank of Instructor, if candidate is close to completion; and, college teaching experience and scholarly research agenda required.

In conjunction with teaching responsibilities, full-time Faculty Members are expected to participate in Divisional and College meetings, advise students, engage in scholarly/creative activities and participate in outcome assessment and curriculum development, along with other service to the College. MMC Faculty must have a strong commitment to Undergraduate teaching within a Liberal Arts environment.
