Position Summary

Knowledge of vocational qualifications, national occupational standards, and national qualification standards. Ability to understand and interpret program outcomes and awarding body requirements. Knowledge of current trends and pedagogical practices in vocational education. Sound technical expertise in the related area of specialization. Strong interpersonal skills with the interest to help learners develop their knowledge, skills and competencies. Ability to work under pressure.

Requirements
  • Minimum of three years of successful experience in training and assessing in a vocational education system.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent vocational qualification in the required field. Additional training and assessment qualification preferred.
  • Industrial experience preferred. 
  • Identify and assess learner needs, and create effective learning options to meet those needs.
  • Provide support in planning, designing and developing training materials and assessment instruments in line with awarding body requirements.
  • Deliver training using a variety of training aids and appropriate resources to suit learner needs.
  • Ensure effective content coverage by analyzing outcomes of the program and work placements.
  • Assess learning in a range of contexts, and provide feedback to students on their progress.
  • Maintain records of students’ progress, and provide guidance to students in maintaining records of training activities and portfolios.
  • Participate actively in improving the quality and effectiveness of learning programs and assessments as well as one’s own practice.
