The Fletcher School at Tufts University seeks a professor for a course in Sustainable Business.

This course is meant to be an innovative and topically broad foundational course that prepare graduates for careers of the 21st century - as problem-solvers where business is central to addressing the challenges of sustainable development. The course should include a review of the key theories and concepts related to business and sustainability, including socially-responsible investing, corporate social responsibility, ESG, impact investing, and SDGs.  Critiques of each approach, including greenwashing and impact washing, should be explored. The course should thoroughly discuss the intersection of business with ethics and sustainability which may include, for example, coverage of transparency, value creation, measurement and metrics, labor relations and social justice, the role of technology and innovation, public goods and market failures, and how they manifest in global supply chains. The role of government and MDBs in ensuring sustainable business should be explored. Inclusion of guest speakers and access to a broad network in this professional space is preferred. The ability to facilitate a rigorous experiential learning/practicum project would be ideal. Specific skills and analytical frameworks should be introduced and applied.

This broad-ranging course is a part of the core curriculum of the Master of International Business degree and required of all students in the program. It is also an elective for students from all degree programs at Fletcher.
