Department Summary
The Department of Information Technology and Decision Sciences (ITDS) is comprised of two academic disciplines, Information Systems and Management Science. The ITDS department has 28 research and teaching faculty whose mission is to conduct cutting edge research and prepare the next generation of information systems, management science, and business analytics professionals. Our department offers degrees at the bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD levels. Five of our degrees are STEM-designated – BS and MS in IS and BBA, MBA, and MS in Business Analytics. We also offer PhDs in Information Systems, Management Science, and Information Assurance. ITDS has a solid track record of producing well-prepared, motivated, and, ultimately successful business professionals and academicians.
UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. We welcome candidates who have experience with HSI/MSIs and/or who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or/and Yoruba.
Position Summary
The Information Technology & Decision Sciences (ITDS) Department in the G. Brint Ryan College of Business seeks an individual for a full-time faculty position in Information Systems (IS), with the ability and experience to teach and develop undergraduate IS courses and curriculum, independently and with faculty colleagues, advise and mentor students, and render service to the department, college, university, and profession commensurate with their rank.
Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a graduate degree in Information Systems (IS), business analytics or a closely related field from an AASCB-accredited or similarly accredited institution. The successful candidate will have experience teaching undergraduate and/or graduate IS courses, with evidence of excellent performance as a teacher, and/or experience in information systems development, IT management or business analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
Our preference is for a proven instructor with (1) Several years of experience teaching and developing undergraduate IS or business analytics courses and/or curriculum; (2) a proven ability, or at least a willingness, to advise, recruit, and/or mentor students. Extensive industry experience with information systems and/or data analysis as well as experience teaching college-level, continuing education, or executive education adult students are a plus.
