Job Description
The School of Accountancy at Old Dominion University invites applications for part-time Adjunct teaching faculty. We are currently seeking individuals for Fall 2023, but this post will remain open and the applicant pool will be reviewed whenever more opportunities arise. Those selected will be assigned to teach our 200-level introductory courses; namely, Principles of Financial Accounting and Principles of Managerial Accounting. A typical workload includes teaching a maximum of two courses a semester in either (or both) face-to-face or asynchronous (online) environments. Job duties include meeting all designated course instruction deadlines, assign and grade course exams and other assigned materials; respond to students in a timely manner; and submit grades according to University guidelines.
Three to five years of recent professional experience that can be linked to Accounting.
Minimum Qualifications - Education or training
Relevant academic preparation that consists of a master’s in a field related to Accounting (i.e., MBA; MSA; or MST). In this graduate work, a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Accounting must have been earned.
Minimum Qualifications - Special licenses, registration or certification
Preferred Qualifications
· Professional certification (i.e., CPA, CMA, etc.)
· Prior teaching experience
· Ability to teach face-to-face during regular daytime business hours
· Proficiency in MS Excel and Data Analytics
