The Department of Finance & Marketing is searching for a tenure track assistant/associate professor to start August, 2018 or January, 2019. California State University, Chico is seeking faculty who are competent in their field, collaborative with colleagues and staff, and committed to student success. Position is contingent on funding. The minimum education requirement for appointment to this position is a Ph.D. in Marketing or related areas. Candidates nearing completion of the doctorate may be considered; however, the doctorate must be complete prior to the beginning of the 2018 academic year (August, 2018). Candidates must demonstrate potential for, or evidence of, effective teaching at the university level. Candidates must also demonstrate a potential for, or evidence of, research and publication in refereed journals relevant to the Marketing area.
A Ph.D. from an AACSB accredited University is desirable. In addition, relevant business experience is preferred. The department is especially interested in candidates with teaching skills and research interests in Strategic Marketing Management, Sales Management, Marketing Research, and/or Survey of Marketing.
This tenure-track position carries responsibilities in the areas of teaching (a typical teaching load is three courses per semester), scholarship and service. The ideal candidate is one who can balance excellent teaching with research productivity and contributions to service. Specific teaching assignments are based upon qualifications of the individual and the needs of the department.
Salary commensurate with education and experience.
The Department of Finance & Marketing is one of four departments in the College of Business (http://www.csuchico.edu/cob/about/Departments/dept-of-finance-and-marketing.shtml
). The Marketing Faculty is comprised of seven tenure/tenure track members and eight part time instructors. The department offers a major, minor, sales certificate, and participates in the delivery of the MBA program.
