Job Description Summary

Position: The Auburn University Harbert College of Business, School of Accountancy seeks applications for a nine-month, non-tenure track, non-tenure eligible full-time teaching faculty position in Accounting. The contract is renewed annually based on need, funding, and performance. The position can be filled as a lecturer or professor of practice depending on the background and experience of the candidate. This nine-month position is designed to support the degree programs of Auburn University’s Harbert College of Business.

Responsibilities: The primary responsibility of the successful candidate for this position is to teach a selection of business law courses and participate in School, College, and University service activities. The successful candidate will be expected to bring experience, innovation, enthusiasm, technology, and leadership to our courses. Under typical circumstances, the teaching load for the position will be equivalent to four three-credit hour courses per semester, which includes course development and course management activities.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications: Because this is a teaching-intensive position, we desire candidates with instructional experience and a record of high-quality teaching. Successful candidates must possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree (or equivalent law degree) when employment begins. Selected candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of appointment and continue working legally for the term of employment. Excellent communication skills are required.

 

Desired Qualifications

Practical business law experience is desired.
