The Department of Information Technology and Decision Sciences (ITDS) is comprised of two academic disciplines, Information Systems and Management Science. The ITDS department has 26 research and teaching faculty whose mission is to conduct cutting edge research and prepare the next generation of information systems, management science, and business analytics professionals. Our department offers degrees at the bachelors, masters, and PhD levels. Four of our degrees are STEM-designated – BS in IS and BBA. MBA, and MS in Business Analytics. ITDS has a long track record of producing well-prepared, motivated, and, ultimately, successful business professionals and academicians.
Teaching undergraduate and graduate Business Analytics/Data Analytics/Decision Sciences/Management Science (BA/DA/DS/MS) or related courses. Developing courses, curriculum, and/or teaching cases. Conducting original and innovative scholarly work that has the potential to be published in leading/prominent journals. Collaborating with colleagues on curriculum and scholarly work. Assisting students with career guidance. Helping the ITDS department nurture, expand, and improve our relations with industry for student internship opportunities, hiring our graduates, and fundraising for scholarships and student and faculty development.
Doctorate in Business Analytics/Data Analytics/Decision Sciences/Management Science (BA/DA/DS/MS) or related discipline with evidence of effective teaching and potential to publish research in leading academic journals. Degree must be awarded from an AASCB-accredited or similarly accredited institution
Excellent teaching and research productivity are key. Experience obtaining research grants and other funding is highly desirable. Also desirable is a proven ability, or at least a willingness, to (1) advise, recruit, and mentor students and (2) work with organizations that provide internships to our students, hire our graduates, and/or serve on our department’s Corporate Advisory Board.
