We are seeking highly qualified candidates with teaching backgrounds in Entrepreneurship, Leadership, Tourism, Strategy, Marketing, Finance, Accounting, Data Science, a.o. to join us for the Fall 2025 semester as a faculty member in the School of Business at the American University of Technology (AUT), located in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. AUT is powered by Arizona State University (ASU), which means that AUT degree programs and related curricula mirror the corresponding programs at ASU. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our growing academic community, engage in teaching and scholarly activities, and inspire the next generation of students in business management and entrepreneurship.

Note: The medium of instruction for all courses is in English.

Accepted candidates are expected to start work by August 1st, 2025.

Teaching:

The primary function of this position is teaching core undergraduate (and graduate) courses in management, strategy, entrepreneurship, marketing, finance, accounting, supply chain management, and data analytics at the School of Business (SoB). Faculty members are expected to be effective instructors and mentors to the students. The activities include but are not limited to the following:

· Preparing course materials in consultations with the program coordinator.

· Preparing course syllabi that include learning outcomes, activities, evaluation methods, major course topics, attendance policies, and other policies required by the School and the university.

· Creating assignments/projects that encourage students in active learning, train critical thinking, and develop problem-solving skills.

· Implementing modern teaching-learning pedagogy and practices (i.e., flip-classroom and experiential learning).

· Using an online learning management system (i.e., Canvas) and other instructional technology/tools (i.e., Smartboards, Projector, etc.) as needed. Note: Support and training will be available for faculty members new to online learning platforms and tools.

· Evaluating student performance according to departmental standards.

· Providing constructive feedback to the students on their learning and performance.

· Providing information regarding course learning outcomes, among others, needed for accreditation and quality control.

Scholarly Activities:

Scholarly activities are integral to the faculty job duties in the School of Business. Each faculty member is expected to do the following:

· Actively engage in scholarly activities in their fields of interest.

· Engage and collaborate with industry to involve professional guest speakers in classroom teaching, organize field visits, and facilitate student internship placements.

· Engage the students in research projects and serve as their mentors.

· Actively engage in research activities for the faculty’s professional development, offering a platform for continuous learning and growth.

· Collaborate with other faculty member(s) and/or researcher(s) within the university, as well as outside (national and international) institutions, funding agencies, and industry, for research activities and obtaining funding.

Services:

Faculty members are the backbone of the university. In addition to teaching and scholarly activities, services to the university and community engagement are essential. The faculty members are expected to participate in the following:

· Engage in student recruitment and retention events

· Serve in the School and/or university-level committees as requested

· Engage in the local community as requested by the School and/or the university

 

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

The minimum qualifications for the position are listed below:

· A Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Management, Economics, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.

· Demonstrated experience in teaching (in-person) relevant courses for the program.

· For Associate Professor level, at least 6 years of full-time equivalent teaching experience in relevant courses/programs.

· Professional level English language skills (i.e., Reading/Writing/Speaking/ Listening).

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The other qualifications are:

· Native or near-native proficiency in the English language is preferred.

· Skills in another language (s), such as Uzbek and/or Russian, are a plus.

· Experience working in diverse and multicultural settings.

· Relevant industry and/or other professional work experience.

· Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

· Commitment to the mission, vision, and goals of the university.
