Requirements

Professor:

A Doctorate (NQF Level 10) in a Business Management discipline with at least seven years of lecturing experience at tertiary education level and/or industry experience or an equivalent combination of relevant professional experience. Excellent English communication skills (oral and written). Proven competence in successful sourcing of Research, coordinate post-graduate Research processes, provide quality research supervision and leadership as well as support students’ research output. A credible record in peer-reviewed publications with high citations, community engagement, programme coordination, as well as supervision of students (research) at post-graduate level will be an advantage. Have experience of working in a business school or university and have extensive experience of working in industry, commerce or as a consultant. Strong academic leadership skills and a proven record of raising substantial research funding from third-party sources, successful initiation and management of industry based action research projects, curriculum development, and strong management/organisational and mentorship skills. Competence to assume academic leadership, to establish professional networks, and to maintain links with industry, as well as experience in developing post-graduate programmes. Sound research profile including twenty peer-reviewed journal articles/books/conference proceedings and successful supervision of at least three Master’s and one Doctoral (research) students.

Associate Professor:

A Doctorate (NQF Level 10) in Business Management with at least seven years of lecturing experience at tertiary education level and/or industry experience or an equivalent combination of relevant professional experience. Excellent English communication skills (oral and written). Proven competence in successful sourcing of research or project funding from third-party sources, successful initiation, and management of research projects, curriculum development, and strong management/organisational and mentorship skills. Competence to assume academic leadership, to establish professional networks, and to maintain links with industry, as well as experience in developing post-graduate programmes. Sound research profile including ten peer-reviewed journal articles/books/conference proceedings and successful supervision of at least three Master’s (research) students.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Teach, assess, and develop curriculum, conduct community service, and administration. Supervise research (projects and/or thesis) at undergraduate levels; conduct research and publish in accredited journals; source for research or project funding; establish professional networks with industry and universities and partake in Department, Faculty and/or University Committees.
