SENIOR LECTURER/LECTURER ABOVE THE BAR IN CORPORATE FINANCE,PERMANENT
Applications are invited for a permanent appointment as Senior Lecturer / Lecturer Above the Bar in Corporate Finance within the Discipline of Accountancy & Finance, J.E. Cairnes School of Business and Economics at NUI Galway. Candidates should indicate the grade they are applying for i.e. Senior Lecturer or Lecturer or both.
The Accountancy & Finance Discipline is recognised nationally and internationally for excellence in teaching and research. The Discipline offers three masters programmes: Master of Accounting; MSc in International Accounting and Analytics; and MSc in Corporate Finance. All of the masters programmes are accredited with global professional accounting bodies and the MSc in Corporate Finance is affiliated with CFA Institute. In addition, the Discipline delivers a designated undergraduate degree in Accounting (B. Comm. (Accounting)) and has designated streams in both Accounting and Finance on the Bachelor of Commerce programme as well as a number of modules on the School’s flagship MBA programme.
Candidates should have a PhD in Corporate Finance or Accounting-related area and a publication record commensurate with the grade of appointment. In addition, they should have significant teaching experience in Corporate Finance on modules accredited with Professional Accounting bodies. Preference will be given to applicants with ability to teach across a number of accounting areas and experience in teaching sustainable corporate finance & accounting. Applicants must have strong interpersonal and communication skills and a willingness to take the initiative. The successful candidate will contribute to relevant teaching and examining at all levels; engage in scholarship and research; and assist with administration and the development of the Discipline of Accountancy & Finance and J.E. School of Business & Economics; and contribute to the intellectual life of the University and the wider community.

Salary: €69,617 to €97,571 p.a (applicable to new entrants effective from January, 2011)
(This appointment will be made on the Senior Lecturer scale in line with current Government pay policy)
€65,453 to €84,522 p.a (applicable to new entrants effective from January, 2011)
(This appointment will be made on the Lecturer Above the Bar scale in line with current Government pay policy)
