The University of Waikato Joint Institute at Zhejiang University City College, China
The University of Waikato Joint Institute at Zhejiang University City College is a unique institute authorised to deliver NZ (University of Waikato) and Chinese (Ministry of Education) accredited degrees. Currently the Institute offers undergraduate degrees in Finance, Computer Graphic Design and Media Design. All teaching is conducted in English. After two years of operation, the Institute has an enrolment of 450 students and the total enrolment will approach 1,000 students by 2020.
Applications are invited for two positions in Finance and Economics in the Waikato Management School, a Triple Crown Accredited (AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA) business school. These positions are based in China and contribute to research informed teaching in the Bachelor of Business Analysis degree.
Successful candidates will hold a PhD in Finance or Economics, be able to demonstrate experience in teaching to large and small groups of students for whom English is not their first language and have achieved a sustained publication record of publications. An understanding of China and its culture, supervision experience and the ability to attract research funding are essential.
Candidates for the position of Lecturer are expected to demonstrate a developing research profile with at least two or more publications. Candidates for the position of Senior Lecturer are expected to demonstrate an internationally recognised research profile with at least five or more publications (including some in journals that are highly ranked, as evidenced by rankings such as ABDC at the A or A* level).
Current salary range for Lecturers will be in the range of CNY342,000 to CNY405,000 per year, and for Senior Lecturer will be in the range of CNY421,000 to CNY548,000 dependent on qualifications, skills and experience.

The appointments will start in August 2019 to include training before teaching at the Joint Institute starts in September 2019. Applicants must be eligible to receive a Foreign Expert Certificate (FEC) to meet the criteria for teaching staff at the Institute.
