Position Purpose
The academic is expected to make a significant contribution to all activities of the organisational unit or interdisciplinary area and play a significant role within their profession or discipline. Academics at this level may be appointed in recognition of distinction in their disciplinary area. The academic will be primarily responsible for teaching and administering undergraduate, postgraduate, and executive education programs in business law and corporate governance areas within the school. The academic will also engage in scholarly research and professional activities related to the discipline to maintain and enhance their field.
Reporting Line: The position reports to the Head of Department, Business Law and Taxation
Key Responsibility
1. Contribute to curriculum development, innovation, enhancement and quality assurance in the undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum
2. Develop and deliver innovative and excellent teaching, learning and assessment experiences for undergraduate and postgraduate students
3. Conduct world class research, maintaining an active record of high quality publication, grants, and PhD student supervision
4. Contribute to the development and implementation of a research strategy for the School of Business, Department of Business Law and Taxation consistent with the research priorities of Monash University Malaysia and Monash University
5. Contribute to the development of strong collaborations with other universities and with government, industry and/or civil society to drive research impact and educational excellence
6. Contribute to the management of education, research and/or administration in the School, including coaching, mentorship, leadership and effective performance management
7. Lead the school's and the department’s agenda in education, research, and industry engagement.
Key Selection Criteria
1. A doctoral qualification (PhD) or equivalent qualification
2. A strong record of successful and innovative curriculum development
3. An outstanding record of teaching which demonstrates a commitment to educational innovation
4. An excellent research record, demonstrated by world class publications, grants and PhD supervision
5. A strong record in research leadership including generating research income, leading major research projects and, where relevant, building research teams
6. Ability to promote the discipline internally within the university as well as externally, both nationally and internationally
7. Demonstrated skills and experience in collaboration and leadership
