Summary:

The Organizational Leadership department at Utah Valley University invites applicants for an Assistant Professor position in Human Resource Management (HRM) in the Woodbury School of Business (AACSB-accredited) that will begin in Fall 2022. The position has a 3/3 teaching load. Courses in the Human Resource Management area include undergraduate courses in Intro to HR, HR Law, Staffing, Performance Management, Total Rewards, International HR, among others in face-to-face, hybrid, or online formats. Candidates must demonstrate an ability and capacity for teaching using engaged learning practices. Successful applicants will provide evidence of a student-centered approach to education that engages with the department and the local professional community to provide experiential learning opportunities for students. Candidates must also demonstrate a capacity for engaging in scholarly and other creative activities. Collegiality and a demonstrated ability to work with others are highly valued. The Woodbury School of Business at Utah Valley University has become the largest business school in Utah with just over 5,000 students, and it will move into the new Scott C. Keller Building in 2022. The Woodbury School is in the middle of a vibrant business community, located only 20 minutes south of Utah's Silicon's Slopes and 45 minutes from downtown Salt Lake City. Orem is located at the foot of Mt. Timpanogos and the Wasatch Mountain Range. Miles of running, hiking, biking, skiing, and equestrian trails are a short driving distance away, and Orem is less than four hours from all five of Utah's National Parks. Required Qualifications:

A doctorate from an accredited institution in an area of specialization consistent with HR is required. Evidence of research publications and work in progress is expected. Demonstrated collegiality and collaboration with other faculty

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of the principles and methodologies of teaching. Skills in maintaining a positive and engaging classroom environment. Ability to maintain a friendly, creative, and positive collaboration with other faculty. Skills in designing, preparing, and teaching courses using meaningful and engaging methods to achieve course objectives. Abilities to teach, manage, and supervise individuals in a classroom and group setting, both in face-to-face and online environments, using demonstrations, discussions, and experiential learning activities. Capable of evaluating learning through written and other performance tests. Skills in research and other scholarly activities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience teaching in traditional, online, and hybrid formats.

Physical Requirements:

This position performs work in a standard office setting.
