BioSci Diversity is housed in the Biological Sciences Dean's office and provides administrative management for DEIB initiatives and programs benefiting faculty, staff, and students in the Division. BioSci Diversity supports new initiatives, develops new programs and proposals, and supports departmental efforts in DEIB. We also provide advice and partnership to the Dean and Department Chairs. The BioSci Diversity Programs Officer, in the Administrative Officer 2 payroll title, will become an important member of our team. This is an excellent opportunity to develop a variety of administrative skills while advancing DEIB in the sciences. Training and mentorship will be provided!

Under general direction, the BioSci Diversity Programs Officer provides support for BioSci Diversity programs including budget and financial transactions, communications, event planning and implementation, data analysis and reporting, funding proposals and strategic planning support. Key areas include:

    Act as the primary point of contact for all business issues on behalf of the Assistant Dean, including scheduling, reimbursements and travel arrangements.

    May also work directly with students, including 1-1 and group advising, and management of scholarships, student organization budgets, and related activities.

            This position is governed by the terms and conditions in the agreement for the Clerical & Allied Services Unit (CX) between the University of California and Teamsters Local 2010. The current bargaining agreement manual can be found at:
