In this role you will have a chance to make an impact by designing and leading high-quality research projects, supporting students’ learning and understanding of ethical issues in business, engaging with broader stakeholders, and being a part of a thriving scholarly community at the university.
We are seeking a candidate who has a proven track record of publishing research in the field of business ethics, broadly defined. Although we welcome applicants from all backgrounds, we are particularly interested in individuals whose research interests align with those of our current faculty. This includes work on environmental sustainability, corporate misconduct, corporate social responsibility, artificial intelligence, organizational justice, diversity and inclusion and the future of work.
We would ideally like you to start between August and December 2024. Join us in shaping the future!
Your role and goals
The ideal candidate will demonstrate significant potential or proven ability to publish in top journals in organizations and management (e.g. Academy of Management’s journals, Journal of Management Studies, and Organization Studies) and/or to publish work related to business ethics in other established outlets, such as Business Ethics Quarterly and Journal of Business Ethics.
More broadly, the successful applicant should have demonstrated ability or high potential for:
- conducting individual and collaborative academic research, meeting high international standards
- participating in regular research activities, such as research seminars, workshops and conferences acting as regular ad hoc reviewer, potentially serving as review board member of top-tier journals
- offering high-quality teaching at Bachelor and Msc levels
- designing and developing educational offerings at a course, module or program level
- supervising undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate thesis work
Applicants should hold a
doctorate degree or have their doctoral thesis under review, which can be from any of a number of disciplines, provided that the candidate has significant research expertise and focus on business ethics. High proficiency in written and spoken English is a requirement for this position. Employment duties need to be performed in Finland.

The position offers a manageable teaching load and initial research funding (€10,000/year for the first three years of the position), along with mentoring and training opportunities to assist the applicant in meeting the criteria for a successful mid-term evaluation and future promotion to the Associate Professor level.
The selected candidate is expected to start the position between

Is this ok, since we don’t have a paragraph about the unit (left it out since other ads apart from the entrepreneurship job don’t have one!)
Also, is there a new platform for faculty members?
Ok. Maybe we should develop a short text for the future (and also our website). We have a lot to be proud of :-).
