Summary:

The Woodbury School of Business (AACSB-accredited) at Utah Valley University (UVU) invites applicants for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position in Human Resource Management (HRM) for July 2021 through June 2022. UVU is a Carnegie classified community-engaged institution (see https://www.uvu.edu/engagedlearning!) with a strong emphasis on connecting the classroom with the community. Additionally, the Woodbury School of Business (WSB), averaging over 4000 students per semester, is one of Utah's largest schools of business and Utah Valley University is one of the largest colleges with approximately 40,000 students enrolled.

Teaches undergraduate courses in Human Resource Management in face-to-face, hybrid, or online formats in some of the following areas: Intro to HR, HR Law, Staffing, Performance Management,Total Rewards International HR, Organizational Behavior, Leadership, Corporate Social Responsibility, and Business Ethics. Prepares instructional materials (course outlines, syllabi, assignments, exams, etc.) as needed. Engages in scholarly activities and other creative activities. Maintains a student-centered approach to education and engages with the department and the local professional community to provide engaging learning experience for students.

Required Qualifications:

Doctoral degree from an AACSB-accredited university or another recognized institution in a field related to the coursework being taught.
Demonstrated collegiality and collaboration with other faculty.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the principles and methodologies of teaching.
  • Skills in maintaining a positive and engaging classroom environment.
  • Ability to maintain a friendly, creative, and positive collaboration with other faculty.
  • Skills in designing, preparing, and teaching courses using meaningful and engaging methods to achieve course objectives.
  • Abilities to teach, manage, and supervise individuals in a classroom and group setting, both in face-to-face and online


environments, using demonstrations, discussions, and experiential learning activities.
  • Capable of evaluating learning through written and other performance tests.
  • Skills in research and otherscholarly activities


Preferred Qualifications:

Successful demonstration of teaching at the college or university level.
