This is a part-time position, working 17.5 hours per week.

The Tufts Gordon Institute (TGI) provides students with the knowledge and skills they need to lead teams, and entire companies. Our graduate and undergraduate engineering management, innovation & management, and entrepreneurship programs are taught by faculty who have excelled in industry, have started and run their own companies and know what it takes to succeed in the business world. We help create transformative leaders across industries.

The Tufts Entrepreneurship Center (TEC) is part of the Gordon Institute and focuses on helping students, alumni, faculty, researchers and other members of the broader Tufts community embrace an entrepreneurial mindset and skillset, helping them succeed wherever their careers take them – in a startup, in a large corporation, in a non-profit, in a government agency and more.

TEC offers academic courses and co-curricular activities, including educational workshops, speaker events, meetups and hackathons, venture competitions, entrepreneurial achievement prizes and a summer venture accelerator.

The EIR is a part-time role to be filled by a practicing entrepreneur. This role reports to the Director of Tufts Entrepreneurship Center. This position is expected to require no more than 20 hours a week.

The Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) program is a pilot program where we bring in practicing innovators and entrepreneurs with subject matter expertise in new venture creation to coach, mentor and create innovative co-curricular programming for students, presenting them with a practical perspective that is deeply in tune with the EIR’s own work outside an academic context.  EIRs helps educate, mentor and coach Tufts students across campus on the realities of being an innovator and entrepreneur in any setting – startup, corporate, non-profit, government and more.
