The College of Business at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Worldwide (ERAU-W) welcomes applications for an Associate Dean for Research position.
Reporting to the Dean, the Associate Dean for Research will be responsible for strategic creation (in collaboration with the Dean and faculty) and management of a robust research agenda for the College. The research agenda will include ideas and plans for implementation of at least (but not limited to) the following: faculty research clusters, support the Dean in developing industry partnerships and projects and build grant writing successes for the college. The Associate Dean will organize and/or lead professional development opportunities in research for all faculty while serving as a research mentor for novice faculty by coordinating research, resources and services. S/he will serve as the liaison between College of Business (COB), the Worldwide Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence (CTLE), and the ERAU Office of Sponsored Research Administration, assisting as needed with pre- and post-award grant operations. The Associate Dean also will interact regularly and meet with program officers and seek out industry associations; lead College efforts to coordinate, build, and implement appropriate research initiatives as requested by the Dean; and serve as a member of the College Leadership Team and the University Research Council. The position is located in Daytona Beach, FL with minimal travel required.
Minimum requirements: A doctorate from an AACSB accredited school in Marketing, Accounting or Finance. Candidates will have an accomplished research record; eligible for appointment in a College of Business academic program; substantial ties to industry and industry related research; successful grant activity; and a record of service to the University. Ability to collaborate with external stakeholders such as industry, government and the academy. The person should have excellent interpersonal skills, a collaborative spirit and willingness to mentor faculty in building a research profile and demonstrated experience in leadership and management.
Preferred requirements: Nationally recognized leader to promote research growth and impactful scholarship, who can lead the strategic creation and management of a robust research agenda. Experience building interdisciplinary research teams, a large industry network and leading institutional infrastructure grants is desired.
