The Department of Economics in the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics at the University of Delaware invites applications for a tenure-track position at the entry or advanced Assistant Professor level. We primarily seek candidates conducting high quality empirical research in the fields of Labor Economics, Household and Consumer Finance, and Macroeconomics. Candidates conducting outstanding empirical research in other microeconomic fields, especially Industrial Organization or Development Economics, are encouraged to apply. Candidates must be committed to excellence in teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Candidates are expected to have completed the Ph.D. in economics by August 31, 2020.
Founded in 1743, the University of Delaware (www.udel.edu) is Located in Newark, Delaware, roughly an hour from Philadelphia and Baltimore, and just over two hours from New York and Washington, D.C. The University is a state-assisted institution with a strong private endowment and selective admission. It is one of the oldest land-grant institutions in the nation and an R1 research university with very high research activity. The Department of Economics has 30 full-time faculty members, including 24 tenured or tenure-track professors. The department offers Ph.D., MS, BA, and BS degrees.
