Ngā kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
You will lead and direct the development, implementation and administration of the Division's research and postgraduate activities within our distinguished business school. Your leadership and facilitation of staff and postgraduate research and research processes will enhance the productivity, reputation and impact of Waikato Management School.
A significant part of the role is building relationships and engagement across heads at the University, external agencies and committees to enhance the opportunities and initiatives which support the Division and the University's strategy.
The appointment will be made at Associate Professor or Professor level in a discipline relevant to the School's research profile, which will be continuing. The Associate Dean role will be for a fixed-term of three years with the possibility of extension for a further three years by mutual agreement.
This is a full-time role where the focus is on Associate Dean of Research and Postgraduate Activities responsibilities (0.7 FTE) and the remaining time (0.3 FTE) is allocated to their Associate Professor or Professor responsibilities. Ko wai koe? - Who are you?
You will have a PhD or an equivalent academic qualification and will be current working at or near the Associate Professor or Professor level.
You'll bring your significant research record (and understanding of funding environments), including your national and/or international reputation and a record of performance in teaching and research as expected of a senior academic position. You will have leadership and strategic experience - of people as well as research and postgraduate programme development and review.
