Description

Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) in Qatar seeks applicants for multiple faculty positions in our top-ranked Information Systems program beginning in the Fall 2026 semester. We seek educators who can contribute to excellence in teaching, research, and service. Our needs are for candidates who can teach core information systems and concentrations courses and bring expertise in one or more of the following areas: emerging technologies and smart systems development, artificial intelligence, digital innovation, IS project consulting, and business process intelligence.

The Information Systems Program at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar offers an undergraduate major which aims to educate local and international students to meet the increasing demand for information systems skills in Qatar, the Gulf region, and globally. Qualifications

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Information Systems or a closely related field. ABDs that graduate by March 2026 will also be considered. A prior record of teaching effectiveness, research impact, and/or relevant industry experience is welcomed.

Appointments for these positions will be at the assistant and associate teaching professor rank with multi-year contracts and promotion opportunities. The positions emphasize teaching excellence, curricular development, and student advising and mentoring. Faculty are expected to develop excellence in research, international scholarly contributions, and university service.

About CMU in Qatar

Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (qatar.cmu.edu) is a branch campus that operates in concert with several other American and European branch campuses under the umbrella of the Qatar Foundation’s Education City. The branch campus closely follows the admissions requirements and English language curriculum of the home campus, which awards all degrees. The several thousand students in Education City are a broad mix of nationalities, but primarily from the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia. CMUQ’s faculty is a mix of academics hired specifically to the campus and seconded faculty from the main campus. CMUQ’s primary focus is undergraduate education in Artificial Intelligence, Business Administration, Biological Sciences, Computer Science and Information Systems.
