Description

The Marketing Department in the Pompea College of Business at the University of New Haven invites applications for a non-tenure-track position at the Instructor level beginning in August of 2023. This position includes teaching in-person, on-ground at our Orange and West Haven campuses, multiple days per week. Additionally, this position has a service component along with a responsibility to take an active role in student growth, developing experiential learning opportunities as well as maintaining and strengthening industry relationships.

We are seeking candidates with qualifications and teaching & research interests in one or more of the following fields: Sales and Sales Management, Brand and Brand Management, Modern Marketing Communications, Customer Value/marketing principles, Organizational and/or Business to Business Marketing, Digital Marketing, Digital Advertising, Database Marketing, Social Media Marketing, and Marketing Analytics. 

Ideal candidates should demonstrate applied teaching experience and the ability to teach effectively in person at our West Haven campus and our Orange campus. Impactful, applied-research is preferred  and valued highly within both the department and the college.  Student advising, career development, fostering internships, and community outreach are important opportunities for this position. The candidate is also expected to assist as a Faculty Advisor for our student clubs. Additionally, candidates are expected to attend and actively participate and engage with prospective students and parents during various Open Houses and other yield events.

Qualifications

Candidates must have an earned doctorate in marketing or a terminal degree in a relevant field, or a master’s degree with a minimum of five years of marketing experience by the date of appointment. Ideal candidates will have willingness/ability to teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate marketing courses. Strong applicants must demonstrate a continuing commitment to excellence in teaching, advising, and service.

Candidates should have strong communication skills, a demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence, and a student orientation. All faculty members are expected to engage in student-focused activities such as advising and career mentoring. As an AACSB accredited institution, faculty members are expected to maintain an active record of relevant scholarship.
