The Office of Marketing and Communications designs and implements a comprehensive, unified marketing and communications effort for the Haas School of Business and its degree and non-degree instructional programs. The Office is responsible for managing the school's brand image by providing strategic marketing and communications advice and planning to the Dean, the Dean's Council, program directors, other senior staff throughout the School.

Responsibilities

The incumbent possesses a passion for innovative analysis, processes that scale, and the wherewithal to develop findings and recommendations that transcend the numbers. S/he will apply their expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand how prospective students interact with our marketing efforts. S/he understands funnels, ecosystems, user behaviors, and long-term trends in the pursuit of graduate education to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Apply expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand how prospective students interact with our content, identify growth opportunities, and execute on projects to drive growth and engagement.
  • Consults with internal stakeholders to gather and clarify data and reporting needs for complex business intelligence solutions and analytics.Writes queries, develops report templates, and dashboards.
  • Break down ambiguous problems by defining key success criteria, and developing data-driven and prioritized roadmaps to deliver results.
  • Performs predictive analysis and forecasting to provide information that supports organizational goals. Mines data to quantify relationships and identify issues warranting further analysis.
  • Monitor key performance indicators, make datadriven recommendations, and advocate for internal resources required to drive growth.
  • Build, forecast, and report on metrics that drive strategy and facilitate decision making for key business initiatives.
  • Conducts industry benchmarking analysis and develops quantitative business cases. Presents recommendations to managers.
  • Identify trends in the data to effectively communicate insights across the team.
  • Analyze competitive landscape to generate actionable marketing insights vis-a-vis our peer programs.
  • Deliver insights and hypotheses that are informed by both competitive and web analytics.
  • Identifies and analyzes errors and problems for internal marketing and admissions teams, developing and applying functional solutions and / or conducting specific training as needed.
  • Conducts on-going analyses of data sources and data sets. Identifies issues and collaborates on developing solutions to data management challenges.
  • Participates in developing and / or delivering training to ensure stakeholder competence, data access, and optimal performance of BI tools and processes.

  • Attend relevant campus training courses or classes to gain knowledge of or to become more proficient with campus policies and/or role relevant skills.

Required Qualifications
  • A deep experience combining data-driven analysis, strong marketing intuition and judgment, and an ability to work well across a variety of teams to assess and solve problems.
  • Thorough knowledge of business intelligence functions, analytics, industry standards and best practices. Hands-on experience conducting customer segmentation, cohort performance, and customer funnel analysis.
  • Strong marketing acumen, with the ability to translate quantitative data into actionable insights and recommendations. Ability to communicate complex data concepts and reasoning in ways that marketing and admissions teams, senior management, and the wider organization will understand. Ability to produce high-quality, consumable reports and documentation in our marketing (HubSpot) and application (Slate) tools.
  • Detail oriented, with ability to manage time and organize competing priorities.


Education
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience designing and operationalizing data-driven marketing programs.
  • Proven ability to serve as a technical resource providing advice and counsel on business intelligence issues.
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant internal databases, BI applications and tools.


Salary & Benefits

This is an exempt, monthly paid position. Annual salary is commensurate with experience up to $110,800.00.
