Department Summary
The University of North Texas is a Carnegie Tier One (R1) research university and a federally designated Hispanic-Serving Institution and Minority-Serving Institution, with a diverse population of over 40,000 students. UNT Denton is the flagship in the University of North Texas System. The department consists of 20 tenured and tenure-track faculty members and offers undergraduate, masters, and doctoral degrees with a concentration in marketing. Faculty members are expected to publish in leading journals in the field of marketing (e.g. Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Applied Psychology) and engage in leading research that supports UNT’s status as a Carnegie Tier One (R1) research university. As such, we offer an environment that supports faculty research, including a 2/2 teaching load, subject pools and laboratories in behavioral research, modeling, and simulation. Denton, Texas
Located in the Golden Triangle between Dallas and Ft. Worth, Texas, Denton is one of the fastest-growing areas of the country. Position Summary
The Department of Marketing, Logistics, and Operations Management in the G. Brint Ryan College of Business at the University of North Texas seeks applicants for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor position beginning September 1, 2021.
Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D. in Marketing or successfully defended dissertation in Marketing or a very closely related field from an AACSB-accredited institution is required by time of appointment (September 1, 2021)
Regardless of their area of research specialization, applicants are expected to be open to multidisciplinary and multi-method research; they must demonstrate the potential to do high-quality scholarly research and publish in the top marketing and allied social science journals; they must be willing to teach undergraduate, Masters, and/or Ph.D. courses; and mentor doctoral students.
Preferred Qualifications
(1) Strong potential to conduct high-quality scholarly research or a record of high-quality scholarly research, (2) potential for effective teaching and (3) the ability and desire to work collegially with faculty and doctoral students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Preference will be given to candidates with strong quantitative and analytical skills, an interest in teaching marketing research and marketing analytics, and a desire to contribute to the department’s international reputation.
