Program overview

The Fletcher School’s Master of Global Business Administration is an online program that combines core business courses with international relations, economics, and law courses. Students in the program are mid-career, averaging 38 years old, and they come from a wide array of sectors including business, NGOs, military, and public service.

The courses in the program run for a traditional 13-week semester, and each week students watch about 90 minutes of recorded content followed by a 90-minute live class session held over Zoom. The live sessions are interactive and engaging, making connections between the recorded sessions and readings though active discussion, breakout rooms, and review of videos when needed. The recorded course content, course structure, and syllabi have already been created; this position is designed to teach and facilitate the live class sessions only.

Position responsibilities

Responsibilities for the position include:

  • Prepare for the course by watching all recorded videos, reviewing the syllabus and readings, and coordinating with the faculty member who designed the class
  • Participate in trainings about the online platform and technology used for the program
  • Conduct a weekly 90-minute live class session for thirteen weeks, to be offered either during a weekday evening or Saturday morning (eastern time)
  • Identify guest and external speakers as necessary
  • Conduct a mid-semester course evaluation to get feedback from students
  • Prepare, grade, and offer feedback on problem sets, exams, papers and other deliverables as outlined in the syllabus
  • Assign final grades for each student.
  • Conduct weekly office hours and engage with students regularly to ensure a high-touch learning experience
  • Conduct/coordinate with a TA to offer weekly review sessions
  • Provide feedback to program administration about possible enhancements to the course

Specific course details: Decision Analysis for Business

We seek a lecturer for the International Strategy and Innovation course for the spring term (Jan-May 2023). This course prepares students to strategize effectively, mastering a variety of skills, including evaluating the dynamics of the external environment (including the complexity of the global context, political situations, emerging markets, and the changing state of natural resources), making choices regarding “where to play” and “how to win,” sustaining this advantage over time, and creating the right organizational and business models to execute the chosen strategy efficiently. Students learn to make a set of integrated choices, to spot innovative business models, to anticipate the key challenges and techniques for implementing these models, and to consider the tensions and opposing forces that must be balanced for the strategy to succeed. This case-based course serves as an intense introduction and is a required class for GBA students.

Instructors should have a relevant background in finance, business, international affairs, or other relevant disciplines. A PhD is preferred but not required. Candidates in Under Represented Groups are encouraged to apply.

Application Instructions

Compensation for the course is $7,500. Please submit a CV, Cover Letter, and course evaluations by October 1 through Interfolio.  Any questions about the posting please contact Kristen Zecchi at

All offers of employment are contingent upon the completion of a background check and meeting the University’s current COVID-19 vaccination requirements.
