SCHOOL OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION

POSITION: Assistant Professor of Practice in Human Resource Management
Stetson University’s School of Business Administration seeks applicants and nominations for a full-time, 9-month faculty appointment in Human Resource Management at the rank of Assistant Professor of Practice (non-tenure track).

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work with multiple constituencies of diverse backgrounds. They must be committed to teaching excellence, engaging with students in a variety of ways, contributing to curriculum development, and engaging with the community and the profession. Evidence of academic preparation and professional activity sufficient to be qualified as Scholarly Academic, Scholarly Practitioner, Practice Academic, or Instructional Practitioner under AACSB guidelines is preferred. Prior relevant professional experience is expected.

For this non-tenure-track position, candidates should have a graduate degree in business, human resource management, or a related field, from an AACSB accredited institution and must demonstrate potential for effective and engaging teaching activity at the undergraduate level in the area of human resource management. Prior college-level teaching is preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The standard teaching load for an Assistant Professor of Practice is four (4) courses per semester. Teaching areas for this position may include recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management, compensation and benefits, strategic human resource management, and employment law, depending on the candidate’s disciplinary expertise, and may include offerings for the University’s requirements in General Education.

The successful candidate will assume a leadership role in the Human Resource Management program, working with department and School leaders in the areas of strategic planning, branding, outreach to the professional community, and student engagement opportunities associated with the Human Resource Management program. Additional responsibilities include: undergraduate advising; student recruitment; engaging with university, school, and departmental committees and meetings; and building partnerships with both Florida-based and national practitioners and potential employers. The candidate may be considered for the position of Director of the Human Resource Management program.

THE COMMUNITY:

SALARY: Salary is competitive.
