Requirements

Lecturer

Master’s degree (NQF Level 9) in Quantity Surveying/ Construction Project Management or a related qualification with at least four years of lecturing experience at tertiary education level and/or industry experience or an equivalent combination of relevant professional experience. Excellent English communication skills (oral and written). Competence to teach three or more of the following Quantity Surveying courses at both under- and post-graduate levels: Building and Engineering Law, Construction Economics, Measurements of Buildings, Construction Accounting, Project Management, Research Methodology, Construction Finance, Professional Practice and Procedures, Contract Management and Construction Costing and Feasibility Studies. A Doctorate, as well as a credible record of lecturing, peer-reviewed publications and community engagement, will be an advantage. Registrable with the Namibia Council for Architects and Quantity Surveyors or another similarly recognised relevant statutory professional body.

Senior Lecturer

A relevant Doctorate (NQF Level 10) in Quantity Surveying/ Construction Project Management or a related qualification with at least six years of lecturing experience at tertiary education level and/or industry experience or an equivalent combination of relevant professional experience. Excellent English communication skills (oral and written). Proven competence in successful sourcing of research or project funding from third-party sources, initiation and management of research projects, curriculum development and strong management/organisational and mentorship skills. Competence to teach three or more of the following Quantity Surveying courses at both under-and post-graduate levels: Building and Engineering Law, Building Science, Construction Economics, Measurements of Buildings, Project Management, Research Methodology, Construction Finance, Professional Practice and Procedures, Contract Management, Construction Costing and Feasibility Studies and any advanced Quantity Surveying related courses. Competence to establish professional networks and to maintain links with the industry, as well as experience in developing postgraduate programmes. A credible record of lecturing, peer-reviewed publications, community engagement, programme coordination, as well as supervision of students (research) at both under- and post-graduate levels will be an advantage. Registrable with the Namibia Council for Architects and Quantity Surveyors or another similarly recognised relevant statutory professional body.
