Opportunity
The Systems Engineering Department at ÉTS is seeking a Professor who specializes in Innovation Management. The selected candidate’s research and teaching activities will be added to existing activities, and will contribute to meeting challenges related to entrepreneurship and innovation.
The incumbent’s areas of expertise should focus on one or more of the following fields of research: entrepreneurship, innovation processes and ecosystems, innovation financing, organizational innovation, assessing the impact of innovation, social innovation, open innovation, technology transfer, strategic / tactical / operational decision-making, creative methodologies, technology monitoring, prototyping and intellectual property.
Description of the position
Working as part of a dynamic research team, the incumbent will assume the following responsibilities:
- Teach at all three university levels in fields related to Innovation Management;
- Supervise graduate and post-graduate students;
- Submit applications for financing and grants, primarily from Québec, Canadian or international government bodies, industrial organizations, municipalities and foundations;
- Conduct subsidized or contract-based research projects in partnership with industry and workplaces;
- Develop research programs;
- Publish scientific articles.
Requirements
- Doctorate (Ph.D.) in a relevant field (management, innovation, design, etc.);
- Experience in conducting research in collaboration with industry or experience in industrial R&D;
- Excellent skills related to training highly-qualified personnel through research projects and teaching;
- A bachelor's degree in engineering is an asset;
- Membership in the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) is an asset;
- Proficiency in French (oral and written), in compliance with the ÉTS Language Policy (in French), or willingness to learn French and enter into a francization process with the support of ÉTS.
