The Department of Marketing at Aalto University School of Business invites applications for 2-year full time positions as

Postdoctoral Researcher in Marketing

Department of Marketing
The Department of Marketing comprises of a thriving and dynamic community of faculty, researchers and staff, extending into four primary research domains: Strategic Marketing, Services Marketing, Retail and Sales and Consumer Behavior. With these key marketing disciplines forming the backbone of our study programmes, the Department offers Bachelor's, Master's and PhD degrees that are internationally competitive in quality, innovativeness and timeliness. Activities of the department are located in the Otaniemi campus of Aalto University in Espoo (Helsinki metropolitan area).

We are now looking for post doctoral researchers with expertise in and interest towards one of the following two topics
1. Experimental research of service models in platform economy in retail market places

Your role and goals
The applicant is expected to have a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline and to have a fluent command of Finnish and English. Due to the nature of empirical research planned, fluency either in Swedish or German is highly useful. The applicant is expected to exercise world-class scientific research, to provide related higher academic education, to follow the latest advances of one’s field, and to participate in service to the Aalto University community. Topicwise applicant is expected to demonstrate prior research experience in service models and/or platform economies. Retail related experience is considered as a bonus. Method-wise one is expected to master quantitative research methods and especially experiments. Experience and co-operation with industry are additional key assets for this position. We hope candidate to have some experience in project management and to act as the project manager for the related project (Business Finland project: Aalto Wisdom 2) at the department.
2. Fostering more immersive interactions with consumers in lifestyle industries

Your role and goals
The applicant is expected to have a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline and to have a fluent command of English. The applicant is expected to exercise world-class scientific research, to provide related higher academic education, to follow the latest advances of one’s field, and to participate in service to the Aalto University community. Topicwise prior knowledge and expertise in consumer-brand interactions and technology/virtual/immersive enviroments are expected. Prior experience in lifestyle industry related research or work is an additional asset. We would value Korean market expertise. Method-wise one is expected to master quantitative research methods and especially experiments. Experience and co-operation with industry are additional key assets for this position.

What we offer
We offer 2-year full time postdoctoral researcher positions at the department of marketing. We are a research oriented business school, and aim to publish world leading high quality research. Thus, Aalto Research and Innovation Services is also dedicated to serve the Aalto faculty during the entire lifecycle of various research projects.
We also provide you with an opportunity to teach in our courses on strategic marketing, service marketing, consumer behavior, or retail. The postdoctoral position can include approx. 20% of work time in teaching.
Aalto University follows the salary system of Finnish universities. The salary is determined based on applicant's experience and qualifications within the Aalto salary framework.
