Job Summary:
The Department of Business invites applications for a full-time position to contribute to our curriculum by teaching core business and economics courses that prepare students with the foundations necessary to excel in the major and minor, delivered predominantly in a campus-based classroom environment.
Responsibilities:
- Teach quantitative courses primarily face-to-face in the traditional undergraduate business program on our Arden Hills campus
- Teach courses such as Principles of Microeconomics, Principles of Macroeconomics, Business Problem Solving, and other courses depending on the candidate’s specialty and the department’s need
- Engage in advising and mentoring students
- Participate in department and university committee service
- Demonstrate ongoing scholarly and professional development
- Contribute to an academic environment that seeks to advance inclusive excellence in the department and the discipline
- Live out a commitment to the liberal arts educational mission and Christian orientation of the University
Skills:
- Ability to teach a range of economics courses that reflect the specialty interests of the candidate and needs of the department
- Ability to engage and mentor students
- Proven ability to collaborate with colleagues to deliver excellence
- Ability and desire to draw connections between business and economics and Christian faith
Experience:
- Education and/or experience must include a background in a quantitative field such as economics, finance, or analytics.
Education:
- A Master’s degree in business or economics is required; Ph.D. or DBA is preferred. A graduate degree in economics is preferred.
