Description
The Fletcher School at Tufts University seeks a professor to teach Financial Statement Management starting in the fall term of 2023. This is an introductory course to provide graduate students in business with exposure to accounting as an economic information system and to understand and evaluate the key drivers of the firm, its financial position, and performance. The course helps students learn how financial statements can then be used to enhance decisions, as well as help predict a firm’s future cash flows, and use the present (or current) value of those cash flows to estimate the value of the firm. This course will cover the basic vocabulary, concepts, procedures, and mechanics of financial and managerial accounting and the role of accounting information in society. Moreover, it will provide insights into whether and how the business incorporates sustainability considerations in its business objectives.
This course serves as an intense introduction and is part of the core curriculum for the Master of International Business degree. It is also an elective for students from all degree programs at Fletcher.
The Fletcher School’s faculty is multi-disciplinary with a focus on preparing tomorrow’s leaders with a global perspective. The School undertakes research and prepares masters and doctoral students to integrate the latest political, business, economic, and legal thinking, among others, to address global societal challenges. Tufts University is a world-renowned research university dedicated to the creation and application of knowledge.
