The School of Business at Stevens Institute of Technology invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in Information Systems at the Assistant or Associate Professor level with an expected start date of September 2024. Of particular interest are applicants with research portfolios focused on online communities, the future of work, or artificial intelligence.
Successful candidates will possess a PhD in Information Systems, Management, Computer Science, Management Science, or a related discipline. The degree must be completed before September 2024. Candidates are expected to conduct research and publish in top journals as well as advise PhD students. Candidates are expected to teach in our graduate and undergraduate programs in Information Systems. Appointments can be made at the assistant or associate rank, commensurate with the individual's record and experience. The university offers a competitive teaching load and excellent support for faculty research.
Information Systems faculty at the school are active in research involving the effects of artificial intelligence on work, the effects of social media, design science, social network analysis, collective intelligence, and process innovation. Candidates are expected to complement and enhance the research activities of the school with their own scholarly activities, advise Ph.D. students, and are expected to publish in top journals of their field. Successful candidates are expected to teach in our graduate and undergraduate programs in Information Systems. Stevens’ offers Information Systems degrees at the graduate, undergraduate and PhD level, and its Information Systems program is ranked 18th by US News and World Report. The graduate program in Information Systems is the largest program in the School of Business and consists of courses on emerging information technologies, business process innovation, IT strategy and IS architectures as well as concentrations in business intelligence and analytics, process and service innovation, and project management. Successful candidates are expected to participate in curricular development, student advisement and the program’s robust series of public events besides the primary role of pursuing a strong research agenda.
Required education and experience:
Successful candidates will possess a Ph.D., or foreign equivalent, in Information Systems, Management, Computer Science, Management Science, or a related discipline. The degree must be completed before September 2024.
