The OM&IS Department at the College of Business, Northern Illinois University invites qualified candidates for a Visiting Professor appointment in Spring 2020 effective January 13th, 2020. The primary responsibility would be to teach the required, Productions, Operations, and Supply Chain Management courses in the Undergraduate or Graduate Business program. For Visiting Professor, one should have a PhD (or ABD) in Operations, Supply Chain Management or a related field. The candidate must be able to effectively teach operations management, supply chain management courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels and work with colleagues to support and enhance our innovative and engage program culture.

Job Title: Visiting Professor or Instructor

Anticipating Start Date: January 13, 2020

Description: As a Visiting Professor, your assignment will include teaching, at both undergraduate and graduate levels, as applicable; course and/or curriculum development; involvement on College initiatives; as well as duties as assigned. Northern Illinois University is a comprehensive university dedicated to quality education, research, and service. All faculty are expected to be excellent teachers, responsive to changing professional needs; committed to innovative delivery of instruction resulting in improved student learning; and provide service to the College, University and Community. Teaching assignments may be on the main campus or at off-campus sites within Chicago region.

Qualifications: For the visiting position – Preferred candidates will have a Ph.D. in Operations, Supply Chain Management or a closely related discipline from an AACSB accredited institution at the time of appointment. ABDs will also be considered; For the instructor position – A master’s degree or higher in the related field. At least 2 years of recent related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in teaching courses in Operations, Supply Chain Management or closely related disciplines. Extensive industry experience in supply chain management at the senior level at major corporations.

Salary: Negotiable based on education and experience.

Job Duties: Teach courses each semester in the OM&IS program, and engages in service activities as required.
