    Program overview 


    The Fletcher School’s Master of Global Business Administration is an online program that combines core business courses with international relations, economics, and law courses. Students in the program are mid-career, averaging 38 years old, and they come from a wide array of sectors including business, NGOs, military, and public service. 


    The courses in the program run for a traditional 13-week semester, and each week students watch about 90 minutes of recorded content followed by a 90-minute live class session held over Zoom. The live sessions are interactive and engaging, making connections between the recorded sessions and readings though active discussion, breakout rooms, and review of videos when needed. The recorded course content, course structure, and syllabi have already been created; this position is designed to teach and facilitate the live class sessions only. 


    Position responsibilities


    Responsibilities for the position include:



    • Prepare for the course by watching all recorded videos, reviewing the syllabus and readings, and coordinating with the faculty member who designed the class

    • Participate in trainings about the online platform and technology used for the program

    • Conduct a weekly 90-minute live class session for thirteen weeks, to be offered either during a weekday evening or Saturday morning (eastern time)

    • Identify guest and external speakers as necessary

    • Conduct a mid-semester course evaluation to get feedback from students 

    • Prepare, grade, and offer feedback on problem sets, exams, papers and other deliverables as outlined in the syllabus

    • Assign final grades for each student. 

    • Conduct weekly office hours and engage with students regularly to ensure a high-touch learning experience

    • Conduct/coordinate with a TA to offer weekly review sessions

    • Provide feedback to program administration about possible enhancements to the course


     


    Specific course details: Decision Analysis for Business 


    We seek a lecturer for the Decision Analysis for Business Course for the summer term (May-August 2023). This course provides students the opportunity to develop a toolbox of analytical techniques that can be essential for understanding complicated problems and choices, including tradeoffs, and arriving at the best possible decision using such techniques and methods. 



    The course covers different types of decision models and how to choose the model that best represents the problem and tradeoffs at hand. Throughout the course, students learn and practice analytic techniques through examples and cases from different countries involving a wide variety of business problems. They construct and solve these models in class and in problem sets. This course does not require a background in economics, statistics, or advanced mathematics. 



    Topics covered include but are not limited to: decision trees, Bayes Theorem, game theory, risk and utility theory, and multiplayer games. 


    Qualifications


    Instructors should have a relevant background in economics, business, or other relevant disciplines. A PhD is preferred but not required.
