    Job Description Summary


    The School of Aviation at Auburn University invites applications for a 9-month, non-tenure track limited term contingent on funding Professor of Practice who specializes in the business sector of the aviation industry as well as the economic development of international air transportation.

    The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching multiple sections of AVMG 4040 (Business Aviation Management) and AVMG 5180 (Global Air Transportation Management). This individual will also work with the engagement coordinator to plan and execute the annual Auburn Business Aviation Days event hosted by the School of Aviation in November. Membership and involvement with the National Business Aviation Association will also be expected.

    This position is part of a group hire to build a foundation of full-time faculty within the School of Aviation. We seek a colleague who can help build the program and contribute to our commitment to train the next generation of aviation professionals.

    Minimum Qualifications


    Masters degree in business-related field is required at the time employment begins. The School of Aviation seeks applicants with extensive experience within the aviation industry as well as a demonstrated record of postsecondary teaching at the undergraduate level.

    The successful candidate must meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the term of employment.

    Desired Qualifications



    • Experience working in an academic setting

    • At least 20 years of aviation experience

    • Airline Transport Pilot rating
