  • Research Associate / Research Fellow (Centre for Healthy and Sustainable Cities)

    Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information (WKWSCI) is looking for a candidate to join them as a Research Associate or Research Fellow for the Centre for Healthy and Sustainable Cities (CHESS). CHESS is an interdisciplinary research centre devoted to projects on health, risk and environmental issues from human-centred perspectives in the Asian context. The Research Associate/ Research Fellow will work closely with the Director to manage the running of the centre located at WKWSCI. As a research centre, CHESS draws upon theories and concepts from communication and information science, bringing into play the interaction of technology — new, emerging and future — with human behaviours.


     


    Key Responsibilities




    • Manage daily operations, including budgets, expenses, resources, etc.




    • Identify and secure funding opportunities from grants, partnerships and commercialisation




    • Lead research projects, including ethics approvals, data collection, analyses and dissemination




    • Develop relationships with academic, industry, government, and community partners




    • Represent CHESS at conferences, meetings, and other events




    • Collaborate with institutions and stakeholders to advance the centre's mission and reputation




    • Promote and communicate CHESS’ achievements and research impact through publications, presentations and media engagement




    • Develop and manage CHESS’ digital brand assets, including websites, blogs and social media




    • Undertake any additional duties as required by the Director




     


    Job Requirements




    • Master’s degree with more than 3 years of full-time research experience or PhD degree and no more than 5 years of full-time postdoctoral experience




    • Experience with academic research




    • Strong administrative skills




    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills




    • Experience with securing and managing research grants




    • Ability to develop strategic and collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders
