    Position: The Department of Marketing in the Harbert College of Business at Auburn University seeks applications for two nine-month, non-tenure track, non-tenure eligible full-time teaching faculty positions as a lecturer, senior lecturer, or professor of practice. This appointment is for a one-year term, with the renewal contingent upon the availability of funds, the need for services, and satisfactory performance. The effective date of employment will be January 2025. Compensation will be competitive. 

     

    Responsibilities: The primary responsibility of the successful candidate for this position is to teach a selection of undergraduate marketing courses (e.g., Retail Management, Advertising Strategy, Customer Relationship Management, Marketing Research and Analytics, Pricing Strategy, Integrated Marketing Communications) and support the growth of the marketing major and minors. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in high-impact practices and bring experience, innovation, enthusiasm, technology, and leadership to their marketing courses. In so doing, the successful candidate is expected to remain current in this field of expertise through professional engagement activities and continuing professional education. In addition to instructional duties, the successful candidate will be expected to perform service to the university, college, and department. 

     

    Candidates with a teaching record and/or an industry background in marketing and sales are strongly desired. Under typical circumstances, the teaching load for the position will be equivalent to four three-credit hour courses per semester, which includes course development and course management activities. In addition to instructional duties, successful candidates will be expected to help develop and promote the department’s marketing and sales initiatives. Candidates should be comfortable teaching different modalities, including face-to-face, online, and hybrid face-to-face & online. Experience using the online educational platform Canvas is considered a benefit. 

     

    About the Department & Programs: The Marketing Department is focused on “strategic marketing” with an emphasis on the organizational frontline as a shared focus of our faculty. The Auburn Marketing program includes an undergraduate major and support of our MBA programs. Successful candidates for this position will join an existing faculty team that currently includes seventeen full-time, professionally qualified faculty. The Marketing department is growing and is currently the second-largest major in Harbert College.
