    Position Overview


    The new faculty member is expected to be actively involved in research, teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses, and interfacing with the industry through advisory boards, networking events, and one-on-one interactions. Candidates should have experience in teaching traditional courses in IS such as Introduction to IS, Systems Analysis & Design, Database Management, Applications Development, but should also demonstrate skills in more current areas such as advanced analytics (predictive and prescriptive), R and Python programming languages, and emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, cloud analytics, and blockchain. The new faculty member will also be involved in design and support of any new undergraduate programs related to IS as well as future online and hybrid graduate programs such as master’s and certificates. Most critically, candidates with a strong publication record/potential are particularly desirable.


     


    Duties and Responsibilities


    1. Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Information Systems
    2. Maintain active scholarly profile, conduct research, and publish regularly
    3. Participate in program curriculum and course development, and undergraduate student advising
    4. Department, College, University, and professional service


     


    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


    Earned doctorate or a terminal degree. Demonstrated potential for teaching excellence and high quality research.


     


    Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


    Candidates should have experience in teaching traditional courses in IS such as Introduction to IS, Systems Analysis and Design, Database Management, Applications Development but should also demonstrate skills in current areas such as programming languages, analytics, and emerging technologies such as blockchain, machine learning, cloud analytics, and AI.
