Assistant/Associate Professor of Accounting
The E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Administration at Coastal Carolina University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in the D. Wyatt Henderson Department of Accounting at the Assistant/Associate Professor level beginning Fall 2019.
It is expected that the individual chosen for this position will possess a commitment to teaching excellence, demonstrated ability or capacity to produce quality scholarly academic research, a commitment to involvement in service to the university and the profession, excellent communication skills, and effective teamwork skills.
The individual hired for this position will have responsibilities in teaching, research, and service. Currently, the teaching load is three courses per academic semester. The individual will also be responsible for advising undergraduate students, contributing to assessment of student learning outcomes, and engaging in other service activities within the department, college, campus, community, and profession.
The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. or D.B.A. from an AACSB accredited institution in accounting or a related discipline. A.B.D.‘s with a clear plan for completion by August 2020 are encouraged to apply. Individuals with a J.D. degree will be considered given relevant experience and/or certifications and other graduate credentials. Applicants with a current professional certification are preferred. These certifications include, but are not limited to a CPA or CMA. Applicants must have abilities, skills, and enthusiasm consistent with teaching excellence and instructional innovation. They must be interested in using technology in instruction and must demonstrate evidence of communication skills appropriate to a faculty position. It is anticipated that courses will be delivered using in-person, hybrid, and online learning formats. Prior experience with distance learning would be beneficial. Individuals must be academically qualified at time of hire, and maintenance of academic qualifications is required. Credentials should be consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools principles of accreditation.
Accredited by AACSB International, the Wall College of Business serves more than 2000 graduate and undergraduate students, and has faculty members represented by six academic disciplines: Accounting, Economics, Finance, Management, Marketing, and Hospitality and Resort Tourism.
